15 Key Training Topics

In our board and train courses, Jenny will cover the following 15 commands and behaviors:

Help your dog learn these commands:

  • Sit – Sits on command

  • Down – Goes down on all fours in a resting position when asked

  • Come – Comes to you on command

  • Place – Stays in a designated spot until released

  • Off – Gets down from furniture when asked

  • Walking – Walks calmly beside you while on a loose leash

Help your dog decrease these negative behaviors:

  • Jumping up on people

  • Begging for food

  • Running away

  • Chewing on things

  • Barking

  • Getting on furniture

Help improve your dog’s emotional state:

  • Decreasing anxiety or nervousness

  • Learning self-calming strategies

  • Learning to control impulses

It is important to note that your dog’s success will also depend on your willingness to do the at-home games and activities we provide after training. Follow-up activities directly contribute to how fast and how well your dog adopts these new positive behaviors. Less participation on your part will lessen your dog’s ability to master these commands and behaviors.
